You may enjoy a trip away from home, but 99.9% of cats do not!

 Cats are territorial… you only have to basket one for a visit to the vet to see the anxiety caused by leaving their home environment.  This is why I decided to offer an alternative to the cattery;

The service we provide includes:

An interview at your home, at a time convenient to you, when I will take details of your pet/s, their medical history and feeding requirements.

You can read through our references, and ask any questions you may have.  There is £20.00 registration fee, which covers the cost of the interview visit and setting up your account.

  • A daily visit to wash food and water bowls and serve a fresh meal/drink to your pet/s.

  • Daily sifting and regular cleaning of a litter tray, if in use, and sweeping up of the surrounding area.

  • Checking around for and cleaning up of any little ‘accidents.’

  • Time spent amusing/playing with kitten-cats, and a cuddle or a stroke for those who enjoy human contact (or space for those who don’t!).

  • Watering of (a reasonable number) of houseplants is included in our fee.  They should be grouped together, and detailed instructions left for us.

  • Removal of telltale post, newspapers and leaflets from porches and letterboxes (and collection of parcels, if left with neighbours).

  • We put out and return wheelie bins and recycling boxes to their usual position (which gives the impression that your home is occupied).

  • Alternating lights, moving curtains

  • A daily security check of doors and windows, and setting of your alarm system, if you have one.

Many dog owners have, by necessity, to work.  Taking your dog for an invigorating early morning walk and a relaxing evening stroll gives you both some much needed exercise and quality time together, but that still leaves a long period in the day when your canine friend is on his own, and boredom can set in.  This is where our dog walking service can come to the rescue!

The service we offer includes:

An interview, at a time convenient to you, when we will come and meet your dog/s, take details of their medical history, temperament and any feeding/medication requirements.

We will explain to you our careful strategy for introducing your dog to the others that come on our group walks.  You can read through our references and ask any questions you may have. There is £20.00 registration fee, which covers the cost of the interview visit and setting up your account.

  • Collection from your home of your dog for secure transportation to the day’s venue for our walk..

  • A countryside walk through woods and fields, with the opportunity for ball play for the younger, energetic dogs, or just a steady amble alongside us for the older, more sedate members of our group.

  • Return home where we will dry muddy paws/wet coats, check the water bowl is full and give a treat (if instructed) before leaving.

Since we take out a group of dogs together, to be eligible for this service your dog must meet the following criteria:

  1. He/she must be sociable (non-aggressive) towards other dogs/people.

  2. Have had basic training to sit on command and reliably come to call.

  3. Be happy to journey by car, and not suffer from travel sickness.

Not everyone has a car, or family/friend available to give you a lift when it comes to transporting your pet to the local veterinary practice. Carrying a heavy basket and waiting for a bus is far from convenient – not to mention distressing for nervous cats.

Some mini-cab drivers are understandably reluctant to allow animals, in particular dogs, inside their cars if their next fare is likely to be a smartly dressed businessman... and I doubt they’d help you basket your difficult cat, or come into the surgery with you to offer you moral support.. but there is a solution – our PETS-2-VETS service:

  • I collect you and your pet from your home, drive you to your veterinary practice, wait with you, and return you to your door.

  • If you need assistance to basket your belligerent cat or help to carry a collapsed dog, just ask.

  • If your cat basket has seen better days (or you just don't have one) mention it when booking and we'll bring one of ours.

  • If you are elderly/housebound or disabled we can take your animal to the vet on your behalf, stay with and reassure your pet during examination and pass on the list of symptoms to the vet.

  • You can also book our drop off/collection service for a pet booked in for an operation  (or a trip to the grooming parlour, or a stay at a cattery/kennels).

  • We will collect a deceased pet for transportation to your surgery, or to the pet cemetery, with or without the owner.
